48% of public bodies not already engaged in some form of outsourcing are considering doing so over the next 12 months, according to new research.
A poll of 50 public sector managers carried out by DDC Outsourcing Solutions demonstrates an appetite for business process outsourcing (BPO) by local and central government, national health, emergency services and education authorities, with a reduction in overheads and improvement in quality at the tops of agendas everywhere. Lobbying on behalf of the third sector appears to be having an effect, after Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne announced plans for VAT changes in his autumn statement.
