Continuing economic pressure is expected to drive the BPO sector in 2012 as service-users look to reduce costs without sacrificing quality. A survey by industry experts Horses for Sources, indicated that 25% of organisations would be more likely to outsource if there was another recession. 48% of public bodies not already engaged in some form of outsourcing are considering doing so over the next 12 months, according to new research.
A poll of 50 public sector managers carried out by DDC Outsourcing Solutions demonstrates an appetite for business process outsourcing (BPO) by local and central government, national health, emergency services and education authorities, with a reduction in overheads and improvement in quality at the tops of agendas everywhere.
